HOUSTON, Texas – The Astros Golf Foundation hosted Media Day for the 2025 Texas Children’s Houston Open on Thursday morning at Memorial Park Golf Course.

The day consisted of remarks from Houston Mayor John Whitmire, Astros Owner and Chairman Jim Crane, Giles Kibbe, President of the Astros Golf Foundation and Texas Children’s President and CEO, Dr. Debra Sukin, along with a pre-recorded message from reigning Texas Children’s Houston Open champion, Stephen Jaeger.

Also in attendance was Abbie Kamin, Houston Councilwoman District C, Chris Ballard, CEO Memorial Park Conservancy, Director Kenneth Allen from the City of Houston Parks and Recs Department, Bob Ethington, Director of Research and Development, Uptown Houston and Brian Ladet, Executive Director, First Tee Houston.

The 2025 Texas Children’s Houston Open tournament field was highlighted, and it was announced that Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, along with OWGR No. 7 Wyndham Clark will be a part of the field. 2022 Texas Children’s Houston Open champion and current OWGR No. 27 Tony Finau was also announced, along with reigning 2024 Texas Children’s Houston Open champion Stephan Jaeger. 

With incredible crowds in 2024, and even more fans expected in 2025, expanded general admission viewing areas were announced throughout the course, with added grandstands on the most dramatic holes, 1, 13, 15, 16 and 18.

All the hospitality venues at the Texas Children’s Houston Open are back, but signature hole No. 15 has a great vibe, so seating in that venue was increased by 20 percent. A new venue behind the green that is a more intimately connected to the players, The Dugout, was announced. Also, a new double-decker hospitality area was announced for hole 16.

It was announced that Aramark will be the new food and beverage concessionaire at the 2025 Texas Children’s Houston Open. Several local restaurants will have specialty items available throughout the course. In the expanded Reliant Fan Village, Houston-staple El Tiempo will have select food items available. There will also be local food trucks serving on the course. Finaly, Beck’s Restaurant will have a new bar and entertainment area overlooking the 10th tee and putting green, which will be available to General Admission ticketholders.

In 2025 there will be a change to the Ride Share entrance, with a new seamless drop off and pickup location on Memorial Drive.

There will also be an expansion to three merchandise tents in 2025. In addition to the large tent near 10 green, there will be an added tent at the Ride Share entrance and a new 15 hole location for the special, new 15 hole merchandise was announced.

On Sunday, following the final putt, there will be live entertainment from local favorite Adrian Michael and the Greenway Band. The concert is included as a part of everyone’s Sunday admission ticket.

Title sponsor Texas Children’s will provide the Texas Children’s Family Fun Zone, located at hole 18. This will be an entertaining space for parents to show their kids why golf is a family friendly environment. They’ll play miniature golf, have kid-sized golf cart photos, a golf-themed coloring wall and multiball, which is a mixed-reality gaming platform for various ages. There will also be the Texas Children’s Bunker Challenge, which allows fans to test their golf skills like a pro, located at the main entrance to the course. New this year, developed for families in mind, the Family Care Center, offers a dedicated space for changing tables, bottle warmers and private nursing areas.

The Texas Children’s Houston Open is all about raising money for charity, and over the past four tournaments, over $16.4 million has been raised. That money has gone to the beneficiaries of the City of Houston, Memorial Park Conservancy, the First Tee of Greater Houston and numerous other local charities.

General Admission tickets are now available for purchase, granting access to anywhere on the grounds that is open to the public. Fans can enjoy tournament viewing across all 18 holes, including several bleacher seating areas. Pick Your Day general admission tickets are also available. General admission ticket prices vary from $50-$69.

The Venue Hopper daily pass is also available, which includes access to three premium venues at the most exciting holes on the course, plus all-inclusive food and non-alcoholic drinks beginning at $149.

New in 2025, Venue Hopper Plus tickets are also available, which begin at $186.
